Dr. Frederick Hall, a semi-retired veterinarian and his son, David, started Hall-Em-In-Lures.com 4 years ago. Both have a long love for fishing and woodworking. A lure, that is no longer in production, which was used by many fishermen, inspired us to start his company. Having both knowledge of woodworking and fishing, we started to replicate this lure. Everything is done by hand, much like the old way of making baits. Spanish Cedar is used as the wood of choice, because it is very durable, dense and performs exceptionally well. The first 2 years were basically learning different ways to create these lures. Along the way other shapes and sizes emerged, and we kept adding to the Hall-Em-In line of lures. The creation of lures is a long continuous process. Weights, shapes, sizes, densities of different woods, physics of motion, all come into play when creating lures. Other obstacles that had to be overcome were what kind of finishes and how to apply them, and where to obtain top quality stainless steel hardware. Once we overcame these hurdles, we set out to go back to the old way of making lures, one lure at a time. We have created a line of the best lures that money can buy, handcrafted in the U.S.A. The product speaks for itself.
We are now making 3 new series of lures, the Offshore, the Striper, and the Lipped Lures.
The Offshore Series – We worked with captains to get the specific action that is needed from the lures. We ended up with three shapes, the bowling pin, the squid, and a standard model. For durability and density, we chose cherry wood and walnut. Each offshore lure is wire-through design with spro swivels, stainless steel mustad hooks, and solid stainless steel 3x split rings. Dorado, Marlin, and Wahoo have been boated using our lures.
The Striper Series – These are also wire-through design lures. Some avid striper fishermen in Rocky Point and Montauk, NY have helped us create our new Striper Series lures with spro swivels, VMC 6x strong 2/0 and 3/0 hooks, and 3x stainless steel split rings. These are almost miniature versions of our Offshore Series. They are also made out of cherry or walnut, and the action is incredible. The prototypes have already caught Striper.
The third series is a small lipped bait that we are developing with the help of certain guides. We have had a lot of fun working with different people along the way and enjoy fresh ideas and new perspectives. People, such as Brad Leber, a columnist with Salty Shores.com, attest to the functionality and durability of each lure.
Due to the nostalgic nature of the wood lures, it was decided that we should make replicas of antique solid wood tackle boxes. These works of art are replicated from a tackle box that was handcrafted at a fish camp up on the St. Johns River during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Out of the large tackle box became the design of a small gift box.

Lures out of many different exotic woods were developed. Woods such as Ebony, Ziricote, Snakewood, and Cocobolo are so beautiful they need a display case, which we have created. The cases come in large and small with a pillowed fabric backing and silk cording to enhance the beauty of the exotic wood lures.
Please visit our website for more information on our company and products.

HANDCRAFTED PERFECTION – ONE AT A TIME!

Special thanks go to God, Joe Sellards, Capt. Bill Miller of Chokoloskee, Sun Network, Ultimate Catch T.V., Capt. Lee Blick, Capt. Justin Parker, Capt. Tony Bozzello, Capt. Gary Giles, Cam Magazine, Capt. Hank Williams, Brad Leber, all the family friends that have helped us and been very supportive, as well as all the fishermen and captains that have shown special interest in our product.

Thank you,

Hall Em In Lure Test trip

Had a chance to fish with Dave Hall from Hall Em In Lures and Capt. Glyn Austin with Going Coastal Charters on his Shoalwater 19 Cat. We went out to test a few new lure designs that Dave has been working on.

We started out about 5:30 am Sunday morning and got too the first spot that Capt. Glyn found a school of mullet a mile thick. I started tossing the top water HallEmIn lures called the Bustin Bob (Black Bart). And Dave was tossing some of the new style lures along with Capt. Glyn Austin. Dave was the first to catch a trout in the school of mullet then I caught Jack. We stayed there for some time and caught a few more trout before moving. Glyn said he has another spot that is loaded with some nice size Snook and Trout. So we started heading in that direction when we saw the sun rise through the islands, what a nice sight to see. We got to the second spot near Sebastian Inlet and man was it loaded with bait and it looked like it was going to produce some good fish for us and give us an opportunity to test the new lures that Dave brought with him.

We started fishing then Bang a big Snook Pop one of the top water lures but no hook up. We had several strikes on topwater, but we kept missing the hooksets. . Then Capt. Glyn Austin spots a Tarpon about 20 yards from the boat. He tosses his new top water lure, the Peanut, appropriately named for it’s size compared to some of the other top water lures from Hall Em in Lures, and that Tarpon turned around and took that lure for a ride. Capt. Glyn Austin jumped that Tarpon about 2 times before he spit out the lure.

Dave tied his Miller Marauder and the color is the new sunburst. Dave started showing Glyn and I the action on it before he got tagged by a nice Red fish. Then we started get some Trout and Jacks with more Big Snook POPS and hooked a big fish before he spit the lure. We spotted more Tarpon hanging around some crab traps but couldn’t get them to bite. We ended the day with 1 Tarpon jump about ½ a dozen big Snook pops and one hookup along with several trout, a few reds and 2 or 3 Jacks. We had a great day fishing with all of Dave Hall’s Hall Em In Lures and he had a good opportunity to do a little real world testing.

You need to check out the Hall Em Lure site and see what they have to offer. Dave and his team make several different lure designs that are carved out of various exotic woods that produce excellent action and are a stunning product. All lures are hand crafted in the USA and they will customize the lures to your liking. Click on the link [www.halleminlures.com] for more info about the lures.
